Short Version:
The group stops in the Shire to acquire Gandalf's staff and a Cauldron of Great Cooking and Fortune-Telling. We are saved by Shiro and his companions, who teleport with us back to Minas Tirith. There, we prevent a plague from spreading any further by finding and killing Ralph, one of the Lich-King's servants. We then teleport to the Living Mountains and find an amulet which can create a wall of impassable force, and a map that can show us where we want to go. Afterwards, we destroy Akmed's army of undead, and acquire a crossbow that fires icebolts, and a topaz ring. We now head towards Tharbad to pursue another pair of artifacts - there are only three pairs left, with two pairs being in Moria...
Long Version:
As we walk towards the Shire, Akmentu’s airship picks us up, and we continue on to our destination at a much faster pace. The palantir tells us that Gandalf’s staff is in an exceptionally large burrow. We disembark, and come to a red door in the side of a hill. Upon knocking on the door, we are greeted by a young hobbit woman. We ask to speak to the master of the house, and she brings us Samwise Gamgee. We sit on the floor in his home after being invited in, and tell him of our mission. Ardwinna tells Samwise that they are looking for the staff, and he gives the staff to her. We tell Samwise that we are also looking for a cauldron, and he tells us where to find it.
We find another hobbit home, which seems a bit rundown, but which appears to be lived-in. We use an Intuitions spell, and find out that we are going to be attacked if we enter the building. We use the Crown of Happiness to make the woman inside happy, and when we knock on the door, she invites us in, once she sees a plate of cookies from Mia. After eating stew from the cauldron, we get feelings of happiness even more so than the Crown of Happiness gives. We try to get her to give us the cauldron, but she says that it has been in her family for generations, and that it is the source of all her power, and that she cannot. We offer to help her with work around the house, but she says she does not farm, but does fortune-telling on the side to earn some money. Walter tells her to look into her cauldron to see what the future will be like if the artifacts fall into the wrong hands. Instead, she sees that we are after her cauldron.
The hobbit woman casts a spell on us, and we cannot resist; we all suffer from nightmares, worse than we have ever dreamed. When we wake from our dreams, we see four elves and two humans we have never seen before, with weapons drawn. The old hobbit lady is dead, however. Ardwinna recognizes two of the elves as Elladan and Elrohir (her uncles). We also see Erestor, Glorfindel, Radagast the Brown, and Shiro. They tell us that they have the Doorknob of Teleportation. We then make introductions, and acquire the Cauldron. We use the Doorknob of Teleportation, acquired by our new allies, to teleport to Minas Tirith. In a flash of light, we find ourselves in Minas Tirith. The group of 18 of us approach the castle, and show our badges, with Princess Ardwinna at the front. We are led to the throne room, and see Aragorn and Arwen there.
Akmentu tells Aragorn that he is going to help against the elves with his Corsair and Black Numenorean forces. Aragorn accepts this aid, and then informs us that the Elves under Jacques have crossed the river and entered Gondor. There is no word, however, on the Haradrim. Walter suggests that we should attack the Haradrim, take the paintbrush teleportation artifact, and use it and the doorknob to pincer the Elves (a classic move). However, Mia suggests that we should try to take out Jacques, because the Elves are under his control, and doing so would save innocent Elven lives. The palantir tells us that there are only four sets of artifacts left unclaimed; one in Tharbad, two in Moria, and one in the Living Mountains.
Before we leave to acquire more artifacts, however, Aragorn beseeches us for help. For there is a plague in the city, because of the Lich-King’s follower, Ralph, in Minas Tirith. Allen uses the Cup of Potions to immunize the group to disease, and also produces a cure for those already infected in the city. Then, we use the palantir to find out that he is on the fourth tier of the city. We spend some time tracking him down, and Mia, Allen, and Deanna sneak up on him, walking down the street. The rest of the team follows him on a magic carpet and watch him, infecting a house in the city. Mia uses Tom Bombadil’s bolas to throw at the man, but he dodges quickly. However, the bolas follow him, and he is tied up. Allen uses the Staff of Sorrow Ralph, and then uses his holy water to destroy him. He had clothes, rigid leather, and some gloves.
We ask Ronald to analyze the artifacts left behind by Ralph, and determines that the gloves are Gloves of Disease. When concentrating, the wearer can spread plague and disease. Mia uses the Disruptor Scepter to destroy the Gloves of Disease immediately, after a unanimous agreement from the group. The paired artifact is the rigid leather he was wearing – the Armor of Mimicry; it allows the user to imitate others. Ralph used it to imitate a human being and pretend to be human to fit in. It can also be used to imitate stats, spells, etc. The group with Shiro that we met recently also gives us: Flask of Power – gives full power points back to whomever drinks from it. Magic Dagger – a throwing dagger that, when thrown, can be thrown at everyone in the room, and hit them all at once.
We then teleport to the Living Mountains, in search of another pair of artifacts: a shield amulet and a map. We see the items appear to be sitting in what looks like a grassy meadow. We step out into the cold on a snowy mountain, after the doorknob creates a portal for us. Brunhilde uses the thermometer to keep the group warm, and we try to stop the snow from falling with Tom Bombadil’s hat. We all walk into an invisible wall, and Walter decides to use the siege beetle to break through. The beetle crashes through the wall, and we walk through into the meadow to acquire the amulet. Allen and Walter find the amulet, and Mia finds the map, both on their own separate pedestals. Melian’s Shield Amulet: she made it to protect a mortal she loved, and his city, from harm. He eventually died, when he forgot the amulet and died in battle. The amulet can create a shield of impassable force, and we can still move while using it. The map can show us anywhere we need to go.
We leave, and pursue Akmed’s undead army, the remnants of the Lich King’s forces. We create a hurricane with Tom Bombadil’s hat, and use holy water to destroy the army in a matter of minutes. We find a crossbow that shoots icebolts, which was being used by Akmed, and a jeweled ring with topaz. Ronald tells us that the crossbow shoots a stream of ice that deals a powerful ice critical using missile OB as attack, and the ring is one of the nine rings of power. At this point, we feel that the best course of action is to pursue the pair of artifacts in Tharbad, forsaking the two pairs of artifacts in Moria for now.

Recap: Meeting Tom Bombadil and Goldberry
Short Version:
The Nifty Nine, along with Akmentu and a few of his attendants, meet Tom Bombadil, and enter the Barrow Downs to save his wife, Goldberry, from a group of wights. When they meet the undead contingent, the group destroys a staff artifact held by a wight, and Mia convinces Goldberry to give the Cup of Immortality to the group. After spending a night eating and resting at Tom and Goldberry's home, the group tries to decide which artifact to pursue next - there are now very few artifacts unclaimed...
Long Version:
After several days of riding on the shapeshifter as a Mumakil, we see a stout woodsman, who looks very nervous. Mia recognizes him immediately from one of the palantir images. He appears to be human – he says that his wife has been kidnapped by wights. He adds that the wights are becoming more powerful by sapping energy from his wife, Goldberry. The group agrees to find and rescue his wife, and bring her back to him.
When we arrive at the Barrow-Downs, we find many shallow graves. The palantir leads us to one in particular, where Goldberry is being held. The group sends an advance scouting party, which sneaks up on eight undead, who are flailing a woman in chains. After ambushing the undead figures, the team finds that these undead are more powerful than usual, and cannot be killed by physical violence, or even Allen’s holy water. Mia calls for help, and Allen casts a barrier pit, causing two of the zombies to drop. The rest of the undead charge at the scouting party. Before long, the rest of the team arrives and countercharges the remaining undead, while Mia and Allen use Brunhilde’s magic carpet to fly over to Goldberry and release her.
The rest of the team engages the zombies in combat. Ardwinna melts some zombies with the Rod of Sunfires, but the rest of the team cannot cause any damage. However, the melee fighters take some savage hits from the undead warriors. After Goldberry is freed, the undead in Allen's barrier pit uses his staff to cast a spell on Mia. She feels excruciating pain, which causes her great agony; she feels like her arm is broken. She then uses the Disruptor Scepter to destroy the staff, and she flees with Allen and Goldberry on the magic carpet.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group has gone down another passage, and they find normal-looking humans (not undead-looking) eating at a table. Dalir joins them, and when Brunhilde tries to, they grab dinner knives and try to attack her. Walter talks them out of it, and they stop to stare at each other. Dalir continues eating with the men, and while waiting, Walter decides to use the pipe given to him by the old man, and proceeds to get extremely high. Allen comes over with a bottle of wine and tries to get the men seated to drink some – he has secretly put a sleep potion from his cup of potions in the wine bottle. Dalir drinks it and begins to feel sleepy.
At that point, Ardwinna unexpectedly begins burning the 12 men sitting at the tables with the Rod of Sunfires. After the men have all been destroyed, Goldberry and Akmentu look at each other awkwardly. We soon learn that Goldberry has the Cup of Immortality, and she refuses to give the cup to the team. Allen speaks up for the cup to be destroyed, reasoning that immortality should not be trifled with. However, Mia eventually persuades Goldberry to give the cup to the team. We then leave the tomb with Goldberry, making our way back to Tom Bombadil. At the edge of the forest, they see Tom and Goldberry reunited. After much strenuous and unreasonable debate, the group accepts an invitation to go to Tom and Goldberry’s house in the forest, to join them for dinner.
After staying the night and getting a good rest, the team learns from the palantir that Tom and Goldberry have more artifacts. The bola on Tom’s belt is useful for capturing animals or enemies. Mia talks him into giving her this artifact. She then tells Tom of their struggles to find the artifacts before the other groups, and he gives the group the hat, which controls weather, reasoning that he has enough power as it is.
At this, the group tries to decide which way to go in pursuit of more artifacts, since the list of unclaimed items is dwindling rapidly.

Recap: Last Two Mordor Artifacts, and Lich-King Showdown
Short Version:
The team finds a ringwraith's ring and a pair of mysteriously powerful dice before escaping a burning mansion. As they travel by airship to meet Akmentu, they stop to receive a smoking-pipe and a golden necklace with an emerald in it, which allows time travel! The team then defeats the Lich-King, with Akmentu's help, and recover many artifacts - although some were destroyed in the battle, out of necessity. We now head towards the Barrow-Downs to acquire the cup of immortality from Tom Bombadil.
Long Version:
We continue our search of the mansion. After killing some sleeping orcs in two rooms, we find a room with a ringwraith in it. Mia, Ardwinna, and Allen destroy the creature in one combat round, and take his ring. It turns people into ringwraiths; Ronald says that it is very evil. It gives a great deal of power, however. This ring has a stone of emerald on it. We now look for two 6-sided dice, the last Mordor artifact. We continue searching through rooms, finding several empty. We then go downstairs, and Ardwinna casts a Death Cloud into a room full of orcs, and a fireball into another room with a few orcs. The fireball is much stronger than expected, and we soon have a conflagration on our hands.
We try to calm the fire with Ronald’s waterwalls, and Allen’s holy water, plus the helm of water control. However, the flames are too great to be controlled. The rest of the team searches for the dice in other rooms, and eventually decide to leave Brunhilde and Dalir behind to watch the fire, while the rest explore to find the dice. Mia finds a torture chamber, while Allen and Ardwinna find a room with cooking supplies and food. Allen’s perceptive nature allows him to spot a secret passage in the floor, in which he finds a bottle of the cook’s best wine. Walter finds orcs in another room, and they complain of the loud noise upstairs, not noticing who he is. The team attacks the orcs, and makes quick work of them. We find two normal looking six-sided dice in their possession, and Walter quickly pockets them. Ronald tells us that when we roll the dice, something very powerful and permanent happens; half of the outcomes are good, and half are bad.
Having obtained both artifacts, we make a mad dash to leave, and fly ourselves out through the hole in the roof by using Brunhilde’s flying carpet. After asking who killed the sixth orc in the last room, we deduce that he was killed by the dice; specifically, rolling a 5 killed him. Walter offers to try rolling the dice to see what happens, but Allen insists that he not do so, at least not until a more desperate moment.
The group is slated to meet with Akmentu in Arnor, but decides to quickly pursue some artifacts that can be found along the way. We agree to seek out the most powerful/dangerous artifact, which is an emerald inlaid into a golden necklace, before we go to meet Akmentu. The next morning on the airship, before we can pursue the emerald necklace, we are all summoned to Ardwinna’s room, where we speak to Aragorn all at once via palantir. He tells us that the elves in Greenwood have attacked human settlements, as he heard from a messenger in Dale. Aragorn tells us that the elven leader we saw in our visions was Jacques. He warns us of the elven armies marching south, and Walter warns him of the other groups we have seen in the palantir. Allen also warns that there are at least two teleportation artifacts, which could be used to devastating effect by any group that acquires them.
A while later, the group drinks the nice wine Allen found on the way to Weathertop, to celebrate their successful search in Mordor. When they arrive at Weathertop, Allen sends Ash to check out the ruins and find the emerald artifact, if possible. Ash cannot see the emerald necklace on a preliminary check, and so the group decides to get nearer to the ruins for a closer look. An old man steps out from behind the rocks as we are searching, and the group looks at him curiously. He says that he is “old man”, and he gives a box specifically to Walter. The mans tells Walter that he was waiting to give him the box. He says that he was once an adventurer also, and when Walter asks where he acquired the box and why he was given the box, the man responds that he will find out in time. In the box is the emerald necklace we are looking for, and a very nice pipe.
According to Ronald, the pipe is the best pipe in Middle-Earth, giving a pure bliss satisfaction when smoked; however, it is very addictive. +50 to herbalism, -50 to perception. The emerald allows time travel. Walter gives the emerald to Allen for safekeeping. After this, we go to the meeting near Bree, and talk to Akmentu, who tells us of an artifact he is looking for: a cup which, when drunk from, grants power, perhaps enough to become a Valar. He has scouted the area with his men; it used to belong to Tom Bombadil, but now it is in the Barrow-Downs. The Lich-King will be on his way, if he is not there already. However, Tom’s wife Goldberry holds the cup at this time. Akmentu says that he will back the group against both Tom Bombadil and the Lich-King. The group votes, and wishes to go after the Lich-King first. Akmentu takes his 5 royal bodyguards with him on the airship to aid the group against the Lich-King. We fly for a while, and find our common enemy with some of his minions on horseback.
Allen and Walter begin by using Allen’s holy water with the helm of water control, as is now common practice. Then, Akmentu raises his spiked demon disc to the sky, and a demon blocks our view. Mia uses the Scepter of Disruption, and it causes the Scythe of the Void to disintegrate. The crew of the airship fires at the demons, while the party prepares for battle with the Lich-King and his troops. Walter and Dalir nearly fall off the ship when it encounters some heavy turbulence in the air. Mia next attempts to cancel the Lich-King’s amulet of attack transfer, but it fails to work. Akmentu uses the mask of multiplication and the sword of light to charge into battle with his bodyguards, while Mia is protected by Team Plate, Ardwinna, Ronald, and Deanna. Ronald casts a Repel Undead spell, while Allen hangs back with his bow, surveying the battle and waiting for the perfect moment to strike at his enemies. Walter smashes a skeleton quickly, but bites his tongue in the excitement, and is stunned. Dalir and Brunhilde charge and attack their enemies as well, living up to team Carpet Plate’s name. Allen makes a superb shot with his bow and shatters a skeleton’s skull for his first kill of the battle.
The next round, more kills are made, and Akmentu makes several with the sword of light. The warriors of the team take some wounds from the undead, but fight on against the horde. After a few rounds of fighting, the undead ranks have been thinned to half of their original numbers. Everyone notices that a large dragon has appeared from the rear of the airship, with someone riding it. The dragon and rider fly towards the undead, and the dragon spits a fireball from his mouth to destroy undead minions, while the rider destroys some other minions. (they kill 18 in one round). Akmentu then eliminates the rest of the horde, and the Lich-King stands by alone, trying to defend himself. Walter makes a sweeping speech, suggesting that the Lich-King must either surrender and serve Akmentu, or die eventually. At one point during the speech, the Lich-King responds that as long as he breathes, his cause is never lost.
Mia then (finally) successfully shatters his amulet of attack transfer. Akmentu then tries to finish him with the Sword of Light, but it doesn’t work. Walter tries to crush his skull with his hammer, but the Lich-King cannot be killed, or so he claims. Ardwinna tries to use a suggestion spell on him, and he tells us that to destroy him we must destroy the ring on his finger. Mia does so with the scepter of disruption, and then he crumbles to nothing, leaving behind his spiked disc of demon control, the ring of ever changing size and shape, a purple sash, a pure white ring, and a vial of glowing energy. The Lich-King’s henchman, Beliel fell in this battle as well. He had the Scythe of the Void, and a cup with various colored liquids inside of it, changing almost instantly. Walter requests that we retain the sash and the cup, and Akmentu agrees to this, getting the remaining artifacts: the spiked demon disk, the white ring with no stone, the vial of pure white, glowing. (The black ring and blood amulet were destroyed in the battle).
Theodore, a shapeshifter, changes from a dragon back to a human, and then into an elephant, in order to help transport the party. The sash gives a look one minute into the future (Intuitions). The cup we receive is one such that, when asked for a potion, it can create any we choose. We next head towards the Barrow-Downs, to get the cup of Immortality/godhood from Tom Bombadil.
