- Trot Nixon: A Dwarf Weaponmaster, a founding member of the White Knights. Trot Nixon went into the mountains with the team and did one of the amazing feats seen: with a half-broken leg he ran a huge corridor, ran up a dragon's tail, ran up the dragon's body, and smashed the Dragon's Head into a gazillion pieces. Trot also killed Hauser in a dispute over the Emerald of Time. Trot fought with the team and survived the battle at Moria. He later fought with Okiro at the great battle of the Gods. He is still a high-ranking member of the White Knights. He also used a baseball bat for his weapon originally.
- Crush: A Dwarf Weapon Master, Member of the White Knights, Crush joined the Palantir Quest with his clubs and bag of Ever Holding. His bag would eventually be used to hold a Golem, the surviving town of Bree, and pretty much anything else you could think of. Crush was one of only five survivors of the game.
- Franco: A Dwarf Warrior from the First Age Game, Franco is known for the Franco Artillery, an attack where Franco would team with the Telari Elf to fire a blast at the enemy. Franco survived the campaign and helped found Three-River.
- Nomar Garciaperra: A Dwarf Berserker. To be updated.
- Azeri: A Corsair (Pirate), a son of one of the former six leaders of New Umber, Azeri was sent as an ambassador to establish a peace treaty with the Reunited Kingdom. However, the ghost of his father appeared and killed an important official and he was sent to prison. Breaking free, Azeri sailed on his boat to go back to New Umber to find out who was framing him. He found out who was framing him, and helped killed him - but in order to restore his family's glory, he was forced to essentially kill himself.
- Eru Tlolemy: A Corsair and close friend of Azeri, he and his pirate crew volunteered to take his blood-brother Azeri's friends home while at the same searching for treasure. He helped the crew fight against the Comatose Hobbits issue, fought the undead and help solve a Dwarfian inheritance crisis, before helping slay the Elf Wizard Palinril to prevent the creation of a new One Ring.
- William Wallace the First: A Rohirric Paladin, a founding member of the White Knights. He is most known for the Climbing Incident. After slaying the dragon and losing Hauser, the group saw a passage going down at a dramatic slope - but at the occasional interval there was a ledge with treasure. William Wallace went down the slope with Okiro to gain the treasure. After some traveling, though, oil appeared, forcing the group to slip down the slope. He used his knife to slow the two of them down before they could die via spiked spears. Near the bottom of the pit, the knife saved the two - but started a great fire. The two slowly climbed, the rest of the group gradually giving up on their survival (Xan was looting already), and eventually survived. The William Wallace climbing equipment became legendary, and much treasure was gained. After surviving the battle of Moria, he retired to raise a family, where William Wallace the Second and Third would be future PCs. He was brought back from Retirement by Okiro, whose life he had saved, in the great campaign against Psyla. He was killed during this fight, but due to the nature of the ending of that fight (See Okiro) it is likely he still lives.
- Kuarjav the Priest: A Dunlending Priest of Ulmo (perhaps Jon's first Priest), he was in Michael's Haradrim Game. Serving with honor in a large group, he is known for being the only survivor of that game - for when the Great Desert Temple Spider had slew all the rest, Kuarjav prayed to his God for salvation - and it was heard. The temple flooded, killing the Spider and creating a life saving lake for the masses. Becoming the region's healer and prophet, his words would be remembered for generations.
- The Telari Elf (Elf who left Middle Earth after the First Age, an even Higher Elf than the Noldor) Priest of the First Age, he was simply stronger, faster and wiser than any other Elf, and came with a powerful Firebolt Staff that served as the Artillery in the Franco Artillery. He was nearly tempted by the Evil Vampire Lady, but barely resisted, and later helped end her plans for the region, fighting in the war against Morgoth. He help found Three-River but soon left to go to the Undying Lands.
- Slice: A Rohirric Paladin who was on the Palantir Quest. Slice was the unofficial leader of the team, ensuring that the group of more than twenty got along. He served with honor, but was killed with many of his teammates by the Fell Turtle of Annuminas.
- Tyanith: A Human Ranger, he was caught by slavers during one of his hunts. He helped the team escape and worked as an assistant to the Herbalist, while recruiting members for Mt. Hope. He was eventually given his own team to recruit people.
- Kamil: A Lizardman in V's Seventh Age Game, he was an expert trader and talker. Becoming quick friends with Kolg Slog, Kamil provided logistical and tactical support during the fight, usually going for the cautious route. He helped the team kill the so-called "Forgotten Gods" of the Isle of Evil, and absorbed one of the Gods' powers for his own. He betrayed Kolg Slog, though, and helped kill him for the sake of Middle Earth.
- Hauser: Michael's first and shortest-lived character. A greedy Hobbit Archer, who started the automated Crossbow strategy, he served well in the group's mission. But when he and Okiro saw treasure in a fountain deep in the mountains, the two rushed for the treasure...and grabbed it at the same time. Hauser panicked, threatened to fight Okiro for the item, and then nearly killed Okiro, escaping with the Emerald. Alas, he was tracked down and killed by Trot Nixon, something often referenced between the players. Hauser later came back from the dead, formed his own organization, and tried to take the Emerald once again. A main rival for Okiro.
- Xan: A wizard who tended to be depressed, he is most renowned for failing to help Okiro and William Wallace in the famous climbing incident not because he lacked the spells, but because he had assumed they were dead and began looting their goods. Xan by the end overcame his depressing tendencies and used his Stun Clouds to great efficiency, a technique ripped off by even Istari. Currently a Captain of the White Knights.
- Ma Xu: A Shape-shifting Elvish Archer during the First Age Game, Ma Xu could turn into a Troll and a Fell beast and eventually learned to turn into a Dragon. He is most famously known for being turned against the team, via brainwashing, in a major boss fight at a Tower in the Far East. A constant presence against the Vampires of the area, he also hates farmers, after one jumped in his way to prevent him killing the Boss of the Game. He later help found a City (Three-River) and married Red Shirt Xena, rescued from the last dungeon.
- Jacques: A Silent Elvish Archer summoned by Aragorn for the Palantir Quest. He had to use signs to talk to his teammates, a fact sometimes ignored by said teammates. Using a preliminary gunpowder gun in a form of a giant cross, the cook of the team was a trusted friend...and a traitor. He is most famous for pretending to blow himself up at the Great Battle of Tharbad, and in reality escaping to his Lord Talahan of Greenwood on his flying Golem companion. Currently, he still has that Palantir, having betrayed (again) his Master Talahan via killing, and creating his own army. He is one of the potential rivals of the Fellowship of the Palantir.
- Eru: A powerful Variag (Human of Mordor) of good spirit, he helped Okiro fight Psyla in the Fourth Age. Naive, not knowledgeable and a stranger to many, he proved himself during the various trials on the group. A Front-Liner who is a specialist with Fire Magic, it is revealed that he holds the Spirit of the Great God Eru inside him. At the Great Battle at Weathertop against Phyla, he killed Sauron and Unganlont, but was killed by Psyla. It is unknown what happened to him or what he is currently doing, as this game technically did not happen in MERP Cannon.
- Palinril: A Silvan Elf Wizard, he has appeared in two games. In Tim's game, he was a powerful wizard who was nearly recruited by Morgoth- but when Palinril refused to join him, he lost most of his power. He joined the slave revolt, became a teacher of the Wizards and helped Mt. Hope become more powerful - all while waiting for the time when his power was restored. In Michael's game, he was the brother of Gongjin, and was A Half-Elf who plotted genocide against Mankind, for he felt that the Fourth Age could not be trusted to Men. He attempted to create a new One Ring using the Dwarf Rings of Power, becoming a Balrog in the process, but was killed by the team.
- Kolg Slog: A Grey Orc Wizard, he was sent by his tribal masters to help save his town from the Isle of the Forgotten Gods during the Seventh Age. He also had to deal with his rivals, who he had previously worked with to kill his Master in order to gain his power. Conniving and smart, he used his abilities to acquire a city and minions...and then accepted the Gods' offer to become one of the most powerful beings in the world. Soon, he manipulated his allies and Gods to fight and kill each other, and almost took over the World, dying at the end due to Zazo's trickery. (But he would come back in the Eight Age and take over Middle Earth -- You wish! -Sarah (and then use nukes to lead to the Nineth Age of hobbits (Michael)
- Nafra Redleaf: A grandmother Hobbit who has appeared in two games. In Michael's, she became a mercenary after her husband's death, and helped Azeri in his quest for redemption. Once that was finished, she saved the Shire from its comatose hobbits problem (saving one of her daughters at the same time), became young again via a magic potion, found love again (with Tarwin) and helped kill Palinril. In Tim's Game, she was a slave who help create a revolt. She helped run an inn with Synthia and recruit other members for Mt. Hope, working with, among others, Palinril.
- Zazo: A daughter of a Maiar, a Warg God, Zazo had great power over the Mind and was immune to Magic. Convinced by Kolg Slog and others to find a way to defeat the Isle of Evil, Zazo served as a slightly disinterested powerhouse for the first part. When the team eventually agreed to join the Isle of Evil and its Gods, Zazo pretended to work with them, gaining her trusted servant Kip again, before slaying the Forgotten Gods. She later killed Kolg Slog by sending a cursed sword through his chest using telekinesis and luck.
- The dwarf suffering from severe memory loss in Jon's one-shot
- Son Goku: An elvish Wizard, Tim's first character, known for, after running out of Power Points, peeing on a Golem to get himself killed. It worked. Alas, the next room would have restored his Power Points. This was the last time Tim would ever play an Elf. Or a Wizard.
- Okiro: A Martial Artist. He began his career as the son of a powerful Martial Artist Dojo Leader, his father Tao-San and friends with Shiro, before being summoned by Aragorn as a promising candidate for the White Knights. He help fight the Dragon, before running into the item that would forever change his life: The Emerald of Time. Rushing to acquire the Emerald, he got into a dispute with Hauser, who was killed as a result. With the Emerald, he could attack quicker than ever before, and his other trademarks Rings of Fire and Ice made him a formidable fighter. At the Battle of Moria, he activated the Emerald's True Power, freezing time long enough for him to kill an army of a few thousands Orc by himself.....but not before disappearing into the Void of Time itself, never to be seen again...or so it was thought. In reality, his mother was the time goddess Vaire, who allowed him to survive. Alas, Okiro is hated by Vaire's husband Mandos, the God of Death (he does not take kindly to Bastard Children from his unfaithful Wife) and uses any excuse he can to ruin Okiro's life. During the Palantir Quest, Okiro is reduced to the form of a kid, and is initially quite weak. Growing into power, he helps the team kill Hauser and his henchmen once more and acquire the Palantir, defeating Hauser by convincing Hauser's dragon to betray him. Later on, one of Hauser's henchmen, Psyla, stole the Emerald of Time from Okiro, and used it to gather an army of evil from all across time. Okiro was forced to do the same, but for good, and the two armies fought at Weathertop. However Psyla was winning the battle, using the Emerald to great effect. Okiro did the only thing he knew could prevent Psyla from winning - preventing her from ever finding the Emerald by killing himself in the past before he could find the Emerald. And thus Okiro killed himself to save time itself, never to be seen again...or so it was thought, for Vaire made Okiro into a Maiar. As a Maiar, Okiro was sent to investigate Morgoth's prison and during that time was corrupted by Morgoth. Okiro and Morgoth created a new timeline, a new world, where Evil Won. That story has yet to be fully told.
- Iron Monkey: A Ninja during the First Age Game, he was a thief originally who would partake in these type of activities in between missions. Eventually caught, he became a Vampire, a villain, and nearly turned the Telari Elf into a Vampire. Fighting against the PCs in the last session, he was killed. He somehow later came back as one of Hauser's trusted henchmen during the Palantir Quest.
- Jareth: A Western Human in V's Seventh Age Game, he caught the Isle of Evil disease that made people want to go to the Isle to transform or die. He sought a cure so he could return home to his daughter. He found a cure...but he had to become part-Balrog to do so. His daughter was eventually taken captive, and Jareth fought to ensure her safety, and succeeded in doing so.
- Tay: A Sindar Elf Wizard, Tay was used in a series of games for over four years. This wizard has learned healing magic, lost nearly all his limbs and killed an Istari via his wolf powers....but not before being sealed in an earring in the caves of Moria. Despite this, Tay has often come back as a Mentor figure in Vicki's games as cameos and is usually trusted...which is sometimes a poor decision.
- Meredor: A Sindar Elf Wizard during Michael's Late Fourth Age Game, Meredor had one of the most broken abilities ever- the ability to ignore resistance rolls. He used this first to acquire an inn, then to create a new villain group (The Bettys), then become Mayor of a City and then to take over the Yellow Turbans of Northwest Middle Earth. He was a powerful regional Wizard who used the Spellbook of the Witch King for powerful rituals.
- Janus: A Sindar Elf Wizard during Jon's Game, Janus used the powerful Arcane arts, which used the Power of Middle Earth itself (via Leylines) for power. Janus helped the team fight and liberate a town and temple from the Evil Empire, and help acquire a tower that would be their base. He then used an old art to level himself to a super-high level (aka, a loophole involving spells that have no power point cost was found and later banned) and became a regional warlord.
- June: A Human Thief who appeared in Tim's One City Game. She was an orphan who grew up in the harsh streets, seeking more than anything to escape from the city. After growing up to a teen, she did so.
- Synthia: An Elvish Thief Girl in Tim's Mount Hope Game. The Daughter of Chozin, she was forced to run away from home in Morgoth's capital during to her father beliefs and political troubles. She eventually helped the team escape, made a waitress at Nafra's inn, and tried to fit in, but never really succeeding, as she did believe in Morgoth, unlike everyone else. She eventually ran off.
- Psyla: A powerful Mentalist, she initially appeared as an ally to the Palantir Quest, then revealed herself to be an ally of the enemy Hauser. However, it was discovered she was using Hauser to gain the Emerald of Time. Her goal was to essentially re-start Middle Earth, to change it to the way it was before the First Age began, to create a world where it was not the Gods that ruled but the ancient Great Tree. She formed a great army and nearly won, but Okiro used his abilities to change time itself and foil her plans. It is unknown what she is currently doing.
- Hauser had Six Champion Henchmen during his plan to eliminate Okiro from his base in Mordor. They were: Psyla, Valeheart and Vainheart (twin brothers in Plate Mail), Iron Monkey, Chozin (A Powerful Wizard, Leader of Orcs, Commander at the Battle of Tharbad) and...?
- Gongjin: From Michael's Corsair/New One Ring Game, Gongjin was a Half-Elf Wizard who followed the team, rarely helping or hurting the team, just keeping an eye and telling the team random bits of information. When Azeri began to (essentially) kill himself, Gongjin tried to keep Azeri alive without forcing an all-out battle, but failed. He had needed Azeri's blood for his own plans, but once foiled, decided to talk with his brother Palanril. Discovering Palinril's plot, he convinced the team to help him kill his brother to save Middle Earth. Injured but not killed in the fight, he seemed to disappear...but in reality was fine. His true motive was never revealed.
